Sixteen people,one room, noaccount layer.
Halvane was founded in 2016 to do one specific thing: keep strategy, design and production in the same room. We are deliberately small. Every project is run by the people doing the work, and the studio takes on a limited number of engagements a year so that nobody is on four projects at once.
Four things we actually do.
We work with founders, in-house teams and institutions who want the finished thing to be better than the pitch. That usually means fewer meetings, earlier prototypes, and an uncomfortable amount of honesty in week two.
Show the hard case first
Anyone can make a logo look good on a white square. We present the smallest, busiest, most awkward application before the hero shot.
Make it, don't describe it
If the work moves, we animate it. If it is built, we build it. A specification is not a result.
Leave it maintainable
Every engagement ends with a team that can run the system without us. Dependence is not a business model we want.
Say the difficult thing early
The expensive problems are all visible in week two. We would rather have the conversation then than in month five.
The people on your project.
